Winner of the 36th Banksia National Sustainability Awards – Healthy Planet, Healthy People Award

Marinova's long term commitment to health has been recognised in Australia's 36th Banksia National Sustainability Awards. Marinova has been named the 2025 national winner of the Healthy Planet, Healthy People category.

The prestigious Healthy Planet, Healthy People award recognises innovative businesses advancing human health whilst simultaneously supporting the health of the planet. It highlights the importance of addressing environmental factors when optimising human health, acknowledging the holistic integration of 'healthy planet, healthy people' initiatives.

The Banksia Foundation is widely respected for highlighting the positive environmental and social gains made by Australian business. The foundation operates Australia’s longest running and most prestigious sustainability awards program in alignment with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals

Speaking of the recognition, Marinova’s CEO, Mr Paul Garrott, said, “Marinova is very proud to be recognised by The Banksia Foundation. The company’s commitment to transforming an invasive species of seaweed into high value ingredients has proven to be of significant benefit to both the planet and human health. Marinova’s unique fucoidan extracts are exported to more than 35 countries around the globe, where they are incorporated into market-leading nutritional supplements, medical devices and skincare formulations. We extend our thanks to the category sponsor, Bupa, for recognising the value of natural, efficacious and sustainable ingredients in supporting healthy lifestyles.”

The 36th Banksia National Sustainability Awards Gala was held in Melbourne on the 3rd of April. The profiles of all category finalists and winners are available in the 2025 Success Stories publication
