Tasmanian Exporter of the Year
Marinova is honoured to have been named the 2024 Tasmanian Exporter of the Year at the 30th Tasmanian Export Awards. The awards recognise the innovation, resilience and global success of Tasmanian exporters across various industries.
Presenting Marinova with the top accolade, Premier and Minister for Trade and Major Investment, the Honourable Jeremy Rockliff MP, praised the company's contribution to the state’s economy and its role promoting Tasmania on the world stage, announcing, “This Tasmanian company is a fantastic example of a pioneering, world-leading organisation that is showcasing its products and services to the world."
In accepting the award, company CEO Paul Garrott highlighted the expertise of Marinova's personnel. "As the world leader in fucoidan science, Marinova specialises in the research, development and production of highly bioactive seaweed extracts for the betterment of human health," he said. "The company's success is undoubtedly testament to its exceptional team. Their world-class expertise in fields as diverse as biochemistry and pharmacology, through to advanced manufacturing and international business development, is unsurpassed."
Marinova exports its unique range of bioactive seaweed extracts to more than 35 countries across the globe. Sustainably sourced and clinically validated, Marinova's extracts are sought after by some of the world's most trusted healthcare brands for inclusion in market-leading nutritional supplements, functional foods and beverages, skincare formulations, and animal health products.
Marinova was also awarded the Sustainability and Green Economy Award, sponsored by Export Finance Australia. "For more than 20 years, Marinova has been removing an introduced species of seaweed from Tasmanian waters and transforming it into a high value product with demonstrated benefits to human health," said Mr Garrott. "Our team is humbled by this recognition."
Marinova will now represent Tasmania at the Australian Export Awards on Wednesday 20 November in Canberra.
