Tasmanian sustainability shines
Marinova is delighted to announce that it has been named the Tasmanian State Winner of the Promoting Sustainability category in the Telstra Best of Business Awards.
With a history that spans more than 30 years, the Telstra Best of Business Awards are widely recognised as Australia’s most prestigious business awards program. They shine a spotlight on the remarkable achievements of the country’s most dynamic small to medium enterprises.
Speaking of the announcement, Marinova’s CEO Paul Garrott said, “We are honoured that our longstanding commitment to sustainability has been recognised. For more than two decades, Marinova has focused on the sustainable production of high quality marine extracts, transforming an introduced seaweed species into bioactive ingredients for some of the world’s most trusted healthcare brands.”
Marinova specialises in the research, development and production of fucoidans – highly bioactive polysaccharides found naturally in brown seaweeds. High purity fucoidans are prized for their range of beneficial health properties, and are widely utilised in market-leading nutritional, skincare and animal health formulations. They are also incorporated into innovative medical devices and used in pharmaceutical research. Marinova’s innovative fucoidan extraction technology produces the world’s only high purity, certified organic fucoidan with global regulatory acceptance.
Mr Garrott continued, “This recognition is testament to Marinova’s exceptional team of personnel. Their dedication to delivering genuine environmental, health and economic benefits has shaped the company’s position as the global leader in its field. From the hand harvesting of introduced seaweeds and the development of proprietary green chemistry extraction technology, to the productive reuse of by-product and the utilisation of renewable energy – the list of sustainability initiatives that support our fucoidan extracts span the entire length of the supply chain.”
Marinova will represent Tasmania in the Promoting Sustainability category at the national Telstra Best of Business Awards in November.
